Winter can be beautiful...

So often I get bogged down by the grind of the cold or the ceaseless snowfall. So much so that I forget just how beautiful winter can be. It takes a change of view or context to appreciate anything really...especially something one has grown use to and/or learn to dispise. But I remember back to my childhood and all the delights that winter offered. And, although not a hockey player, I still revelled in snowball fights, building snowmen, building snow forts, making snow angels...a myriad of simple pleasures all based on winter and snow. How I long for those simpler days. But in the meantime, I can breathe in the cool refreshing air. Look at the bright warming sun against the cold frigid wind. Appreciate the designs of snow and ice and frost. And be thankful for all that I have and all that I am...and the miracle of THIS. Life. Winter. Snow.
